Most Catch & Release carvings are $36 per linear inch up to 30 inches then the price increases to $40 per linear inch. Warm water fishes such as bass and pike are also $40 per linear inch. Please call 1-207-647-5238 for a price quote on decorative carvings or very large fish such as striped bass.

Per Linear Inch

The per linear inch charge relates to the length of the fish. If you want a 22" Rainbow trout Catch & Release carving, the base rate would be $36.00 per inch, or $792.00. Contact us for a quote on a detailed 3D carving. The final price would depend on any options you might choose to include.

There are many options available such as:

  • Birch Bark Panels
  • Oak or Walnut Panels
  • Rustic and Barnboard Panels
  • Rectangle or Oval Acrylic Bubbles with Walnut Frames, and Hand Painted Scenes
  • Brass Name Plate with your name and information about your trophy

Catch & Release Carvings

I think every angler can recall a special fish that he or she has caught in the past that brings back the pleasant memories of being afield with friends and loved ones, or perhaps enjoying the peace and quiet of one's own company. Maybe at the time you could not afford to have it mounted or perhaps you did have it mounted by an amateur taxidermist and soon realized that your trophy was ruined and your money wasted. You might be glad to know that your trophy can be reproduced in wood.

Catch & Release Carvings are wall mounts carved to replace taxidermy mounts. The carvings are about 30% more than a quality taxidermy mount but the carvings are much stronger and should last a lifetime with reasonable care. Just as with a taxidermy mount, direct sunlight, extreme heat and people touching and tapping are detrimental to a carving.

Gene works with a number of sporting camps as they join the Catch & Release philosophy. Many guides now carry cameras and measuring equipment, and work with Gene to provide their customers with a beautiful trophy of fish caught while enjoying their facilities. This arrangement benefits everyone, as camps keep their stock of trophy fish high, anglers can continue to catch & release them and still keep the memory of the fish preserved in wood.
